Sunshine

It was a sunny day in my little part of the world. What a boost the sun gave us as the cold and cloudy winter days have been dragging on this month. Aahh, sun on the face does wonders!

It's days like these that really make me appreciate beautiful Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN. Today, as I was leaving work and on my way to a retirement dinner in Terre Haute I noticed the snow glistening in the sun. It was so pretty.

Before exiting the front gate I drove past the Church of the Immaculate Conception to see it's beauty shining bright. I couldn't resist capturing it with my Blackberry. I jumped out of the warm car, walked up the snowy sidewalk and looked up...way up. What a sight.

Look sideways, up and down

If you strive to take great shots of your family and friends "look 360." Don't look forward as you walk. Instead, look sideways, up and down for those unique snapshots of your family, friends and pets.

Get down on the floor or ground and shoot up at the kids. Or try standing on something (Be careful!) to shoot down at Uncle Jim. Take a unique shot of him as he looks up at you or away.

Kids aren't still for long, so move along with them. You'll be glad you did!

Happy shooting!

Happy 10th in 2010!

Now that we've survived the craziness of the holidays, it's time to look ahead to a new year of opportunities, learning and fun.

For Photography by Cheryl, 2010 is a year to celebrate a 10th anniversary! It continues to be an amazing experience and I appreciate the support from so many wonderful people. Grandpa Archer would be so proud.

I look forward to taking lots of great photos of the fabulous people of Sullivan County (and beyond) in the coming months. A new year is exciting, but a year of celebrating a 10th anniversary is extra special.

I look forward to sharing all about it here. Hope to see you in front of the lens!
